Where to Stay

If you’ve been invited to a wedding/event at Dream Bay Resort, you may be scheduled stay on site, depending on the wedding couple’s preferences. Wedding couples typically have all 5 of our vacation rental units reserved, and their wedding party and immediate family usually stay on site. If you’re a close family member or friend, you may need to check with the couple to see if you’re staying on site.

For all other guest accommodations, there are several nice hotels and motels near our location, many within walking distance.

Neighboring properties: Next door to us, north of our venue, there is a lovely vacation rental property, Alamar on the Bay, with 3 quaint vacation rentals, on the water, which are very convenient for additional guests. Also, our immediate neighbor to the south is Bungalows Key Largo, which is a luxury, all-inclusive resort. Both these properties make it easy for guests since they’re right next door!

Within walking distance: Sunset Cove Resort, Bay Cove Resort, The Pelican, Key Lime Sailing Club, and Bayside Inn. These are all on the water. Across the street from our venue is Key Largo Inn (not waterfront but very economical and convenient).

Within 1 mile: Holiday Inn, Courtyard Marriott, Marina Del Mar (allows pets).

Within 2-4 miles of our location: Baker's Cay, Hampton Inn, Reefhouse Resort, and Playa Largo.

It's a good idea to reserve well in advance, especially during peak season (Jan-Apr) or holidays.

Airport Transportation/Car Rentals/Parking

Miami international airport is about 1 hour and 15 mins away. Fort Lauderdale airport is about 1 hour and 30 mins away. It’s highly recommended that you rent a car, as Key Largo is a long island, without a town center, and the Florida Keys are best explored by car, but if you need transportation from the airport, we recommend Keys Shuttle.

We also have Lyft and Uber in the Upper Keys. Since we have limited parking at the venue, it would be helpful to use their services from your hotel to the event.

Boating & Dockage at Dream Bay Resort

Can you bring a boat? Yes, you can! We provide dockage, and we have space for trailer parking. We don’t have a launch, but there are several nearby. Riptide Resort, about a mile south of us, and Caribbean Club, about 4 miles north of us both have boat launches. On charts, our property is in Sunset Cove, in Buttonwood Sound. You will see our L-shaped jetty, and there is a radio tower close to us that can be used for navigation.

Please note that dockage is for recreational vessels only and boats must not be used as live-aboards during or after the event.
